VFF Troubleshooting
Typical VFF Opening Challenges
Lemkesoft GraphicConverter Disappeared
If you attempt to load your VFF file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open VFF Files". Usually, this is because you do not have Lemkesoft GraphicConverter for %%os%% installed. The OS won't know what to do with your VFF file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your VFF, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Lemkesoft GraphicConverter is Installed
Your Sun TAAC Graphic File file is incompatible with Lemkesoft GraphicConverter because you might have the wrong version installed. Download the latest Lemkesoft GraphicConverter version from the Lemkesoft website to ensure you have the correct one installed. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the VFF file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Lemkesoft GraphicConverter version on your computer can cause problems opening VFF files.
Other Causes of VFF File Opening Problems
You can still experience errors opening VFF files even with the latest version of Lemkesoft GraphicConverter installed on your PC. If you are still having problems opening VFF files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Issues that aren't software-related:
- VFF file type Registry entries are wrong
- Corruption of the VFF file description inside the Registry
- Invalid installation of a VFF-associated program (eg. Lemkesoft GraphicConverter)
- Something has caused file corruption of your VFF
- Your VFF has adversely impacted by malware
- Hardware related to VFFs has device driver corruption
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Sun TAAC Graphic File file
