Troubleshoot BV2 Files
Issues Opening BV2 Files
Missing Corel WordPerfect X8
When you double-click your BV2 file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Corel WordPerfect X8 is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your BV2 with Corel WordPerfect X8, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your BV2, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Corel WordPerfect X8 is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Corel WordPerfect X8 installed that's incompatible with your Corel WordPerfect Overflow File type. Visit the Corel website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Corel WordPerfect X8. This problem is predominately due to having a Corel WordPerfect Overflow File file version that was created by a newer version of Corel WordPerfect X8 than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your BV2 file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening BV2 files are due to having the wrong version of Corel WordPerfect X8 installed.
