Troubleshooting Problems Opening BV4 Files
Typical BV4 Opening Challenges
Corel WordPerfect X8 Removed
When trying to open your BV4 file, you get the error "Can't Open BV4 File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Corel WordPerfect X8 installed for %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your BV4, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Obsolete Version of Corel WordPerfect X8
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Corel WordPerfect Overflow File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. You will need to download a newer version of Corel WordPerfect X8 if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Corel WordPerfect Overflow File file was created by a different (newer) version of Corel WordPerfect X8 than what's installed.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of BV4 file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: Not having the right Corel WordPerfect X8 version on your computer can cause problems opening BV4 files.
