Understanding CPO Issues
Frequent CPO Opening Issues
Corel Print House Removed
When you double-click your CPO file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Corel Print House installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your CPO because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you don't have Corel Print House installed, and you know of another program to open your CPO file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Obsolete Version of Corel Print House
Your Corel Print House Data file is incompatible with Corel Print House because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Corel Print House if you don't have the right version. Your Corel Print House Data file was probably created by a newer release of Corel Print House than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: If you right-click on your CPO file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening CPO files are due to having the incorrect version of Corel Print House installed on your computer.
Associated Difficulties Loading CPO Files
Errors opening Corel Print House Data files can still occur even with the latest Corel Print House software installed on your computer. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening CPO files. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry CPO file paths that are incorrect
- Accidental deletion of the description of the CPO file in the Windows registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the CPO format
- Your CPO file is corrupted (issues with your Corel Print House Data file itself)
- Past or present virus infection has affected your CPO
- Drivers associated with CPO software need to be updated
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Corel Print House Data file successfully
