Understanding S01 Issues
Frequent S01 Opening Issues
Lithops Software ZipSplitter Isn't There
You attempt to load your S01 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The S01 File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have Lithops Software ZipSplitter installed for %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your S01, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Lithops Software ZipSplitter is Out-of-Date
Sometimes your installed version of Lithops Software ZipSplitter won't support your ZipSplitter Part 2 Archive file. If you do not have the proper version Lithops Software ZipSplitter (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a ZipSplitter Part 2 Archive file version that was created by a newer version of Lithops Software ZipSplitter than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the S01 file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening S01 files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other S01 File Opening Causes
Assuming you have the right Lithops Software ZipSplitter version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening S01 files. If you are continuing to have errors with loading S01 files, other external issues might be to blame. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry S01 file paths that are incorrect
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry S01 description
- Invalid installation of a S01-associated program (eg. Lithops Software ZipSplitter)
- Something has caused file corruption of your S01
- Past or present virus infection has affected your S01
- Drivers associated with S01 software need to be updated
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the ZipSplitter Part 2 Archive format
