Frequent XG0 Opening Issues
Corel WordPerfect X8 Disappeared
Double-clicking your XG0 file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open XG0 File". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Corel WordPerfect X8 isn't installed on your PC. The typical path of opening your XG0 with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your XG0, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Corel WordPerfect X8 Requires Update
It is possible that your version of Corel WordPerfect X8 isn't able to open your Corel Paradox Secondary Index file due to incompatibility. If you've got the wrong version of Corel WordPerfect X8 installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a Corel Paradox Secondary Index file version that was created by a newer version of Corel WordPerfect X8 than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Investigate your XG0 file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening XG0 files are due to having the wrong version of Corel WordPerfect X8 installed.
Associated Difficulties Loading XG0 Files
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of Corel WordPerfect X8 will resolve your issue. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening XG0s. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- File references in the Windows Registry for XG0 are wrong
- Unintentional removal of the description of the XG0 file inside the Windows Registry
- Defective install of a XG0 program, such as Corel WordPerfect X8
- Your XG0 file is corrupted (issues with your Corel Paradox Secondary Index file itself)
- Your XG0 is infected with malware
- XG0-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Corel Paradox Secondary Index file successfully
