Troubleshooting Problems Opening PGL Files
Issues Opening PGL Files
Unknown Software Isn't There
Double-clicking your PGL file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open PGL File". If so, it typically means that you don't have Unknown Software installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your PGL with Unknown Software, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens PGL files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Outdated Unknown Software
In other instances, your HP Plotter Language File Format file version may not be supported by your version of Unknown Software. You will need to download a newer version of Unknown Software if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a HP Plotter Language File Format file version that was created by a newer version of Unknown Software than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the PGL file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening PGL files are due to having the incorrect version of Unknown Software installed on your computer.

Although you might already have Unknown Software or another PGL-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening HP Plotter Language File Format files. Other PGL opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Problems unrelated to software:
