Troubleshooting Problems Opening C2P Files
Frequent C2P Opening Issues
Casio ClassPad ll Disappeared
When you double-click your C2P file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Casio ClassPad ll isn't installed on your PC. The OS won't know what to do with your C2P file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When another C2P application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Obsolete Version of Casio ClassPad ll
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Casio ClassPad II Picture File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Visit the Casio Computer Co., Ltd. website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Casio ClassPad ll. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the C2P file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening C2P files are due to having the wrong version of Casio ClassPad ll installed.
Other C2P File Opening Causes
Even with the correct version of Casio ClassPad ll installed, you can still experience difficulties opening C2Ps. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening C2Ps. Issues that aren't software-related:
- C2P file type Registry entries are wrong
- The C2P file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Corrupt install of Casio ClassPad ll or other C2P-related program
- The C2P itself is corrupted
- Your C2P has adversely impacted by malware
- Drivers associated with C2P software need to be updated
- Windows cannot load your Casio ClassPad II Picture File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
