Troubles Opening CA3 Files
WK-1800 is Not Installed
Double-clicking your CA3 file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open CA3 File". Usually, this is because you do not have WK-1800 for %%os%% installed. Your operating system cannot associate your CA3 with WK-1800, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens CA3 files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Obsolete Version of WK-1800
Your Casio WK-1800 Save All Data file is incompatible with WK-1800 because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of WK-1800 if you don't have the right version. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Investigate your CA3 file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Regardless, most of the CA3 file opening problems relate to not having the right version of WK-1800 installed.
Other CA3 File Opening Causes
Although you might already have WK-1800 or another CA3-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Casio WK-1800 Save All Data files. If you are continuing to have errors with loading CA3 files, other external issues might be to blame. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- Invalid CA3 file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- The CA3 file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Corrupt install of WK-1800 or other CA3-related program
- Something has caused file corruption of your CA3
- The CA3 is infected with a virus
- Device drivers for CA3-related hardware are out-of-date
- Windows cannot load your Casio WK-1800 Save All Data file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
