Sources of QR2 Problems
Common Problems Opening QR2 Files
Delphi (IDE) Isn't There
When trying to open your QR2 file, you get the error "Can't Open QR2 File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Delphi (IDE) installed for %%os%%. The typical path of opening your QR2 with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your QR2, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Delphi (IDE) is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Delphi (IDE) installed that's incompatible with your Delphi Database Quick Report type. You will need to download a newer version of Delphi (IDE) if you don't have the right version. This issue mainly occurs when your Delphi Database Quick Report file was created by a newer version of Delphi (IDE) than you have on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of QR2 file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Regardless, most of the QR2 file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Delphi (IDE) installed.
Other QR2 File Issues
Errors opening Delphi Database Quick Report files can still occur even with the latest Delphi (IDE) software installed on your computer. Other QR2 opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- QR2 file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Deletion of the QR2 file description from the Registry by mistake
- Delphi (IDE) or another QR2 application experienced a flawed installation
- QR2 file corruption
- Malware-tainted QR2 file can't be opened
- Device drivers for QR2-related hardware are out-of-date
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Delphi Database Quick Report file successfully
