Sources of 3DSX Problems
Typical 3DSX Opening Challenges
Apple Finder Isn't There
When you double-click your 3DSX file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Apple Finder is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your 3DSX because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When another 3DSX application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Incorrect Apple Finder Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Homebrew Launcher File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Download the latest Apple Finder version from the Apple website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Your Homebrew Launcher File file was probably created by a newer release of Apple Finder than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the 3DSX file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Apple Finder version on your computer can cause problems opening 3DSX files.
Other 3DSX File Opening Causes
Even with the correct version of Apple Finder installed, you can still experience difficulties opening 3DSXs. Other 3DSX opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Other contributing causes:
- 3DSX file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry 3DSX description
- Invalid installation of a 3DSX-associated program (eg. Apple Finder)
- The 3DSX itself is corrupted
- Your 3DSX is infected with malware
- 3DSX-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Homebrew Launcher File file
