Sources of ACCDT Problems
Issues Opening ACCDT Files
Missing Microsoft Access
Double-clicking your ACCDT file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open ACCDT File". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Access for %%os%% installed on your computer. The OS won't know what to do with your ACCDT file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: Another ACCDT-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Obsolete Version of Microsoft Access
In other instances, your Microsoft Access Database Template file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Access. You will need to download a newer version of Microsoft Access if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a Microsoft Access Database Template file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Access than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Investigate your ACCDT file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening ACCDT files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft Access installed on your computer.
