Sources of ARMY Problems
Typical ARMY Opening Challenges
Impossible Creatures Removed
You attempt to load your ARMY file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The ARMY File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have Impossible Creatures installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your ARMY because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens ARMY files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Impossible Creatures is Out-of-Date
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Impossible Creatures Collection Of Created Creatures File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Impossible Creatures (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Most of the time your Impossible Creatures Collection Of Created Creatures File file was created by a newer Impossible Creatures than what you have installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the ARMY file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Regardless, most of the ARMY file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Impossible Creatures installed.
Other ARMY File Issues
Assuming you have the right Impossible Creatures version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening ARMY files. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening ARMYs. Issues that aren't software-related:
- ARMY file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Unintentional removal of the description of the ARMY file inside the Windows Registry
- Corrupt install of Impossible Creatures or other ARMY-related program
- Your ARMY can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Malware-tainted ARMY file can't be opened
- Hardware associated with ARMY has outdated drivers
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Impossible Creatures Collection Of Created Creatures File file successfully
