ARV File Complications
Troubles Opening ARV Files
Microsoft AutoRoute Isn't There
When trying to open your ARV file, you get the error "Can't Open ARV File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have Microsoft AutoRoute for %%os%% installed. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: When another ARV application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Incorrect Microsoft AutoRoute Version
It is possible that your version of Microsoft AutoRoute isn't able to open your Microsoft Autoroute User Information File file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of Microsoft AutoRoute from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. Most of the time your Microsoft Autoroute User Information File file was created by a newer Microsoft AutoRoute than what you have installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your ARV file and clicking "Properties".
Primarily, problems experienced when opening ARV files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft AutoRoute installed on your computer.
Other ARV File Opening Causes
You can still experience errors opening ARV files even with the latest version of Microsoft AutoRoute installed on your PC. If you are continuing to have errors with loading ARV files, other external issues might be to blame. Issues that aren't software-related:
- ARV file type Registry entries are wrong
- The ARV file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Microsoft AutoRoute or another ARV application experienced a flawed installation
- ARV file corruption
- Past or present virus infection has affected your ARV
- Drivers associated with ARV software need to be updated
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Microsoft Autoroute User Information File file successfully
