Troubleshoot CA_ Files
Issues Opening CA_ Files
Microsoft Windows is Not Installed
When trying to open your CA_ file, you get the error "Can't Open CA_ File Type". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Windows for %%os%% installed on your computer. You won't be able to double-click to open your CA_ because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your CA_ file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Microsoft Windows is Out-of-Date
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Microsoft Cabinet File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Microsoft Windows (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a Microsoft Cabinet File file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Windows than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Investigate your CA_ file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening CA_ files are due to having the wrong version of Microsoft Windows installed.
Associated Difficulties Loading CA_ Files
You can still experience errors opening CA_ files even with the latest version of Microsoft Windows installed on your PC. If you are continuing to have errors with loading CA_ files, other external issues might be to blame. Issues that aren't software-related:
- CA_ file type Registry entries are wrong
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry CA_ description
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the CA_ format
- The CA_ itself is corrupted
- Malware-tainted CA_ file can't be opened
- Device drivers for CA_-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Microsoft Cabinet File format
