CBO File Complications
Common CBO Opening Problems
Microsoft Windows is Not Installed
You attempt to load your CBO file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The CBO File Extension". Customarily, this means that Microsoft Windows is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your CBO with Microsoft Windows, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you don't have Microsoft Windows installed, and you know of another program to open your CBO file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Wrong Version of Microsoft Windows is Installed
It is possible that your version of Microsoft Windows isn't able to open your Microsoft Interactive Training File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Microsoft Windows (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Most of the time your Microsoft Interactive Training File file was created by a newer Microsoft Windows than what you have installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your CBO file and clicking "Properties".
Conclusion: The majority of CBO file opening issues are due to not having the correct Microsoft Windows version installed.
Other Causes of CBO File Opening Problems
Errors opening Microsoft Interactive Training File files can still occur even with the latest Microsoft Windows software installed on your computer. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening CBOs. Problems unrelated to software:
- CBO file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- The CBO file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Invalid installation of a CBO-associated program (eg. Microsoft Windows)
- CBO file corruption
- Malware-tainted CBO file can't be opened
- Hardware related to CBOs has device driver corruption
- Windows cannot load your Microsoft Interactive Training File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
