Sources of CCH Problems
Frequent CCH Opening Issues
Microsoft .NET Framework is Not Installed
If you attempt to load your CCH file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open CCH Files". Customarily, this means that Microsoft .NET Framework is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your CCH because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your CCH file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Wrong Version of Microsoft .NET Framework is Installed
Your .NET Security Resolution Cache File file is incompatible with Microsoft .NET Framework because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Microsoft .NET Framework if you don't have the right version. This issue mainly occurs when your .NET Security Resolution Cache File file was created by a newer version of Microsoft .NET Framework than you have on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your CCH file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening CCH files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft .NET Framework installed on your computer.
Other CCH File Issues
You can still experience errors opening CCH files even with the latest version of Microsoft .NET Framework installed on your PC. If you are still having problems opening CCH files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Additional factors include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for CCH
- The CCH file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the CCH format
- The CCH itself is corrupted
- Malware-tainted CCH file can't be opened
- CCH-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows cannot load your .NET Security Resolution Cache File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
