CDF-MS File Complications
Common Problems Opening CDF-MS Files
Missing Microsoft ClickOnce
When trying to open your CDF-MS file, you get the error "Can't Open CDF-MS File Type". Customarily, this means that Microsoft ClickOnce is not installed on %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you don't have Microsoft ClickOnce installed, and you know of another program to open your CDF-MS file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Obsolete Version of Microsoft ClickOnce
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a ClickOnce Compiled Manifest File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Download the latest Microsoft ClickOnce version from the Microsoft Corporation website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Your ClickOnce Compiled Manifest File file was probably created by a newer release of Microsoft ClickOnce than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your CDF-MS file and clicking "Properties".
Primarily, problems experienced when opening CDF-MS files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft ClickOnce installed on your computer.
Other CDF-MS File Issues
Errors opening ClickOnce Compiled Manifest File files can still occur even with the latest Microsoft ClickOnce software installed on your computer. Other CDF-MS opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Issues that aren't software-related:
- CDF-MS file type Registry entries are wrong
- Accidental deletion of the description of the CDF-MS file in the Windows registry
- Corrupt install of Microsoft ClickOnce or other CDF-MS-related program
- File corruption affecting your CDF-MS file
- Your CDF-MS has adversely impacted by malware
- Hardware related to CDF-MSs has device driver corruption
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your ClickOnce Compiled Manifest File file successfully
