Common COV Opening Problems
Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor is Not Installed
When trying to open your COV file, you get the error "Can't Open COV File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor for - installed. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the COV file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor installed, and you know of another program to open your COV file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor Requires Update
Sometimes your installed version of Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor won't support your Fax Cover Page File file. Download the latest Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor version from the Microsoft Corporation website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Most of the time your Fax Cover Page File file was created by a newer Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor than what you have installed.
