Common CPE Opening Problems
Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor Removed
You attempt to load your CPE file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The CPE File Extension". When this happens, it is commonly due to Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor missing in %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your CPE because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your CPE, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor Requires Update
Your Fax Cover Page File file is incompatible with Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor because you might have the wrong version installed. Installing the latest version of Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. Most of the time your Fax Cover Page File file was created by a newer Microsoft Fax Cover Page Editor than what you have installed.
Tip: Investigate your CPE file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
