CTC Troubleshooting
Issues Opening CTC Files
Microsoft Visual Studio Not Present
If you attempt to load your CTC file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open CTC Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Visual Studio for %%os%% installed on your computer. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens CTC files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Microsoft Visual Studio Requires Update
Your Visual Studio Command Table Configuration file is incompatible with Microsoft Visual Studio because you might have the wrong version installed. Installing the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. This problem is predominately due to having a Visual Studio Command Table Configuration file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Visual Studio than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your CTC file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening CTC files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
More Causes of Problems Opening CTCs
You can still experience errors opening CTC files even with the latest version of Microsoft Visual Studio installed on your PC. If you're still experiencing problems opening CTC files, there could be other computer problems. Other contributing causes:
