Issues Opening CTL Files

StepMania is Not Installed

When trying to open your CTL file, you get the error "Can't Open CTL File Type". Customarily, this means that StepMania is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your CTL because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: Another CTL-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.

Obsolete Version of StepMania

Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of StepMania installed that's incompatible with your StepMania SMZIP Package Description File type. If you've got the wrong version of StepMania installed, you'll need to install the correct version. The primary cause of this problem is that your StepMania SMZIP Package Description File file was created by a different (newer) version of StepMania than what's installed.
