Troubles Opening DBP Files

Microsoft Notepad Isn't There

When trying to open your DBP file, you get the error "Can't Open DBP File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to Microsoft Notepad missing in %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the DBP file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.

Tip: When another DBP application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.

Obsolete Version of Microsoft Notepad

In other instances, your Microsoft Visual Studio Visual C++ Database Project file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Notepad. Installing the latest version of Microsoft Notepad from Microsoft Corporation is recommended.
