DLG Troubleshooting

Common Problems Opening DLG Files

Crysis Not Present

When trying to open your DLG file, you get the error "Can't Open DLG File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to Crysis missing in %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your DLG file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.

Tip: If you don't have Crysis installed, and you know of another program to open your DLG file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".

Obsolete Version of Crysis

Your Crysis Dialogue Data File file is incompatible with Crysis because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Crysis if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a Crysis Dialogue Data File file version that was created by a newer version of Crysis than what you have installed on your PC.

Tip: Right-clicking on your DLG, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.

Primarily, problems experienced when opening DLG files are due to having the incorrect version of Crysis installed on your computer.

Associated Difficulties Loading DLG Files

You can still experience errors opening DLG files even with the latest version of Crysis installed on your PC. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening DLGs. Additional factors include:

• DLG file type Registry entries are wrong
• The DLG file description within the Windows Registry was removed
• Corrupt install of Crysis or other DLG-related program
• File corruption affecting your DLG file
• Your DLG has adversely impacted by malware
