Troubleshoot FLF Files
Issues Opening FLF Files
Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) Isn't There
Double-clicking your FLF file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open FLF File". When this happens, it is commonly due to Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) missing in %%os%%. The typical path of opening your FLF with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens FLF files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) Version
In other instances, your Microsoft Dynamics NAV License File file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision). Installing the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. Your Microsoft Dynamics NAV License File file was probably created by a newer release of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your FLF file and clicking "Properties".
Regardless, most of the FLF file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) installed.
Associated Difficulties Loading FLF Files
Although you might already have Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) or another FLF-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Microsoft Dynamics NAV License File files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening FLF files. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- FLF file type Registry entries are wrong
- Corruption of the FLF file description inside the Registry
- Partial installation of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) that did not fully complete
- Your FLF file is corrupted (issues with your Microsoft Dynamics NAV License File file itself)
- FLF file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Drivers associated with FLF software need to be updated
- Windows cannot load your Microsoft Dynamics NAV License File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
