GCSX File Complications
Common GCSX Opening Problems
Microsoft Office Isn't There
If you attempt to load your GCSX file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open GCSX Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Office for %%os%% installed on your computer. The OS won't know what to do with your GCSX file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your GCSX, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Microsoft Office is Installed
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Microsoft Office SmartArt Color File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Visit the Microsoft Corporation website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Microsoft Office. Your Microsoft Office SmartArt Color File file was probably created by a newer release of Microsoft Office than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of GCSX file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: Not having the right Microsoft Office version on your computer can cause problems opening GCSX files.
Other Causes of GCSX File Opening Problems
Assuming you have the right Microsoft Office version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening GCSX files. If you're still experiencing problems opening GCSX files, there could be other computer problems. Other contributing causes:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for GCSX
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry GCSX description
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the GCSX format
- The GCSX itself is corrupted
- The GCSX is infected with a virus
- Hardware associated with GCSX has outdated drivers
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Microsoft Office SmartArt Color File file
