Common GLY Opening Problems

Microsoft Word Not Present

If you attempt to load your GLY file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open GLY Files". Usually, this is because you do not have Microsoft Word for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your GLY with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your GLY, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Outdated Microsoft Word

Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Microsoft Word installed that's incompatible with your Word Glossary File type. Installing the latest version of Microsoft Word from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. Your Word Glossary File file was probably created by a newer release of Microsoft Word than what's currently installed your computer.

Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of GLY file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
