Troubleshoot GQSX Files
Typical GQSX Opening Challenges
Microsoft Office Isn't There
If you attempt to load your GQSX file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open GQSX Files". Usually, this is because you do not have Microsoft Office for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your GQSX with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you don't have Microsoft Office installed, and you know of another program to open your GQSX file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Obsolete Version of Microsoft Office
Your Microsoft Office SmartArt Styles File file is incompatible with Microsoft Office because you might have the wrong version installed. If you've got the wrong version of Microsoft Office installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This issue mainly occurs when your Microsoft Office SmartArt Styles File file was created by a newer version of Microsoft Office than you have on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your GQSX file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening GQSX files are due to having the wrong version of Microsoft Office installed.
Other GQSX File Opening Causes
You can still experience errors opening GQSX files even with the latest version of Microsoft Office installed on your PC. Other GQSX opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Problems unrelated to software:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for GQSX
- Corruption of the GQSX file description inside the Registry
- Corrupt install of Microsoft Office or other GQSX-related program
- GQSX file corruption
- Your GQSX has adversely impacted by malware
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your GQSX file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Microsoft Office SmartArt Styles File file successfully
