Issues Opening INFOPATHXML Files
Microsoft InfoPath is Not Installed
When trying to open your INFOPATHXML file, you get the error "Can't Open INFOPATHXML File Type". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft InfoPath for %%os%% installed on your computer. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the INFOPATHXML file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your INFOPATHXML, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Obsolete Version of Microsoft InfoPath
Sometimes your installed version of Microsoft InfoPath won't support your Microsoft InfoPath Form file. If you do not have the proper version Microsoft InfoPath (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: If you right-click on your INFOPATHXML file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
