INV File Complications
Issues Opening INV Files
Missing INVedit
You attempt to load your INV file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The INV File Extension". When this happens, it is commonly due to INVedit missing in %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: Another INV-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Wrong Version of INVedit is Installed
In other instances, your INVedit File file version may not be supported by your version of INVedit. Visit the Copyboy website to download (or purchase) the latest version of INVedit. This issue mainly occurs when your INVedit File file was created by a newer version of INVedit than you have on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your INV, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening INV files are due to having the wrong version of INVedit installed.
Other INV File Opening Causes
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of INVedit will resolve your issue. If you are still having problems opening INV files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Other contributing causes:
- INV file type Registry entries are wrong
- Corruption of the INV file description inside the Registry
- Partial installation of INVedit that did not fully complete
- Your INV file is corrupted (issues with your INVedit File file itself)
- Your INV is infected with malware
- Hardware associated with INV has outdated drivers
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the INVedit File format
