JXR File Complications

Issues Opening JXR Files

Adobe Photoshop Isn't There

You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open JXR Files" when trying to open your JXR. Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Adobe Photoshop isn't installed on your PC. You won't be able to double-click to open your JXR because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: When another JXR application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.

Obsolete Version of Adobe Photoshop

Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Adobe Photoshop installed that's incompatible with your JPEG XR Image type. Visit the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. The primary cause of this problem is that your JPEG XR Image file was created by a different (newer) version of Adobe Photoshop than what's installed.

Tip: If you right-click on your JXR file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.

Regardless, most of the JXR file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Adobe Photoshop installed.
