KOR Troubleshooting

Common Problems Opening KOR Files

Unreal Tournament Not Present

If you attempt to load your KOR file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open KOR Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Unreal Tournament for %%os%% installed on your computer. You won't be able to double-click to open your KOR because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your KOR, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Incorrect Unreal Tournament Version

In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Unreal Engine Language Localization file that is unsupported by your installed application version. You will need to download a newer version of Unreal Tournament if you don't have the right version. Your Unreal Engine Language Localization file was probably created by a newer release of Unreal Tournament than what's currently installed your computer.

Tip: Investigate your KOR file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.

Conclusion: The majority of KOR file opening issues are due to not having the correct Unreal Tournament version installed.

Other KOR File Issues

You can still experience errors opening KOR files even with the latest version of Unreal Tournament installed on your PC. If you're still experiencing problems opening KOR files, there could be other computer problems. Problems unrelated to software:

  • Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for KOR
  • Accidental deletion of the description of the KOR file in the Windows registry
  • Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the KOR format
  • KOR file corruption
  • KOR file integrity has been compromised by malware
  • Hardware related to KORs has device driver corruption
  • Windows has inadequate resources to open your Unreal Engine Language Localization file
