LGA Troubleshooting
Issues Opening LGA Files
Missing Microsoft Windows
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open LGA Files" when trying to open your LGA. If so, it typically means that you don't have Microsoft Windows installed for %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the LGA file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your LGA, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Microsoft Windows is Installed
In other instances, your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Windows. If you do not have the proper version Microsoft Windows (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file was created by a different (newer) version of Microsoft Windows than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your LGA file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Regardless, most of the LGA file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Microsoft Windows installed.
Additional LGA Opening Issues
You can still experience errors opening LGA files even with the latest version of Microsoft Windows installed on your PC. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening LGAs. Additional factors include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for LGA
- Accidental deletion of the description of the LGA file in the Windows registry
- Partial installation of Microsoft Windows that did not fully complete
- Your LGA file is corrupted (issues with your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file itself)
- Your LGA has adversely impacted by malware
- Hardware associated with LGA has outdated drivers
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file
