LGJ Troubleshooting
Typical LGJ Opening Challenges
Microsoft Windows Not Present
If you attempt to load your LGJ file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open LGJ Files". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Microsoft Windows isn't installed on your PC. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the LGJ file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens LGJ files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Microsoft Windows Requires Update
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Microsoft Windows Application Log File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you've got the wrong version of Microsoft Windows installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This issue mainly occurs when your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file was created by a newer version of Microsoft Windows than you have on your PC.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your LGJ file and clicking "Properties".
Regardless, most of the LGJ file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Microsoft Windows installed.
Other Causes of LGJ File Opening Problems
Even with the correct version of Microsoft Windows installed, you can still experience difficulties opening LGJs. If you are continuing to have errors with loading LGJ files, other external issues might be to blame. These issues include:
- File references in the Windows Registry for LGJ are wrong
- Accidental deletion of the description of the LGJ file in the Windows registry
- Defective install of a LGJ program, such as Microsoft Windows
- Your LGJ file is corrupted (issues with your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file itself)
- The LGJ is infected with a virus
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your LGJ file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Windows cannot load your Microsoft Windows Application Log File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
