Typical MAI Opening Challenges

Missing Microsoft Mail

If you attempt to load your MAI file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open MAI Files". Customarily, this means that Microsoft Mail is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your MAI with Microsoft Mail, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your MAI, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Wrong Version of Microsoft Mail is Installed

Your Microsoft Mail File file is incompatible with Microsoft Mail because you might have the wrong version installed. If you've got the wrong version of Microsoft Mail installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This issue mainly occurs when your Microsoft Mail File file was created by a newer version of Microsoft Mail than you have on your PC.
