MAILHOST File Complications
Issues Opening MAILHOST Files
MSN Explorer Disappeared
You attempt to load your MAILHOST file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The MAILHOST File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have MSN Explorer for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your MAILHOST with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When another MAILHOST application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Outdated MSN Explorer
It is possible that your version of MSN Explorer isn't able to open your MSN Mailhost Settings File file due to incompatibility. If you've got the wrong version of MSN Explorer installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a MSN Mailhost Settings File file version that was created by a newer version of MSN Explorer than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Investigate your MAILHOST file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Regardless, most of the MAILHOST file opening problems relate to not having the right version of MSN Explorer installed.
More Causes of Problems Opening MAILHOSTs
Although you might already have MSN Explorer or another MAILHOST-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening MSN Mailhost Settings File files.
