Troubleshoot MEU Files
Common MEU Opening Problems
MS-DOS Disappeared
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open MEU Files" when trying to open your MEU. If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have MS-DOS for %%os%% installed on your computer. Your operating system cannot associate your MEU with MS-DOS, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens MEU files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Wrong Version of MS-DOS is Installed
It is possible that your version of MS-DOS isn't able to open your DOS Shell Menu Group File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version MS-DOS (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Right-clicking on your MEU, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: Not having the right MS-DOS version on your computer can cause problems opening MEU files.
