Sources of MTD Problems
Troubles Opening MTD Files
Musicnotes Player Isn't There
You attempt to load your MTD file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The MTD File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have Musicnotes Player installed for %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your MTD file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your MTD, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Obsolete Version of Musicnotes Player
It is possible that your version of Musicnotes Player isn't able to open your Musicnotes Digital Sheet Music File file due to incompatibility. If you've got the wrong version of Musicnotes Player installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a Musicnotes Digital Sheet Music File file version that was created by a newer version of Musicnotes Player than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the MTD file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Musicnotes Player version on your computer can cause problems opening MTD files.
