Troubles Opening NWS Files

Microsoft Outlook Express Not Present

Double-clicking your NWS file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open NWS File". Customarily, this means that Microsoft Outlook Express is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your NWS with Microsoft Outlook Express, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your NWS, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Microsoft Outlook Express Requires Update

Your Windows Live Mail Newsgroup File file is incompatible with Microsoft Outlook Express because you might have the wrong version installed. If you've got the wrong version of Microsoft Outlook Express installed, you'll need to install the correct version. Most of the time your Windows Live Mail Newsgroup File file was created by a newer Microsoft Outlook Express than what you have installed.
