Troubleshoot PFILE Files
Issues Opening PFILE Files
Missing Azure Rights Management
If you attempt to load your PFILE file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open PFILE Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Azure Rights Management for %%os%% installed on your computer. The typical path of opening your PFILE with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: When another PFILE application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Azure Rights Management Requires Update
Your Rights Management Protected File file is incompatible with Azure Rights Management because you might have the wrong version installed. Installing the latest version of Azure Rights Management from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Right-clicking on your PFILE, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Regardless, most of the PFILE file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Azure Rights Management installed.
