Troubleshoot PYS Files
Issues Opening PYS Files
Microsoft Windows Isn't There
You attempt to load your PYS file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The PYS File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Microsoft Windows for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your PYS with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens PYS files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Outdated Microsoft Windows
In other instances, your Microsoft Console Based Script Host File file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Windows. Visit the Microsoft Corporation website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Microsoft Windows. This problem is predominately due to having a Microsoft Console Based Script Host File file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Windows than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your PYS file and clicking "Properties".
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening PYS files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
