RRA File Complications
Common RRA Opening Problems
Iterum vRigger is Not Installed
Double-clicking your RRA file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open RRA File". Customarily, this means that Iterum vRigger is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your RRA because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When another RRA application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Iterum vRigger Requires Update
Your vRigger Rigging Gear File file is incompatible with Iterum vRigger because you might have the wrong version installed. If you do not have the proper version Iterum vRigger (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Your vRigger Rigging Gear File file was probably created by a newer release of Iterum vRigger than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the RRA file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Conclusion: The majority of RRA file opening issues are due to not having the correct Iterum vRigger version installed.
Other Causes of RRA File Opening Problems
Assuming you have the right Iterum vRigger version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening RRA files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening RRA files. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- Invalid RRA file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Accidental deletion of the description of the RRA file in the Windows registry
- Corrupt install of Iterum vRigger or other RRA-related program
- File corruption affecting your RRA file
- Your RRA has adversely impacted by malware
- Hardware associated with RRA has outdated drivers
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your vRigger Rigging Gear File file
