Troubleshoot SCA Files
Typical SCA Opening Challenges
Norton Antivirus Removed
Double-clicking your SCA file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open SCA File". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Norton Antivirus for %%os%% installed on your computer. Your operating system cannot associate your SCA with Norton Antivirus, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: Another SCA-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Outdated Norton Antivirus
In other instances, your Norton AntiVirus Scan File file version may not be supported by your version of Norton Antivirus. Installing the latest version of Norton Antivirus from Symantec Corporation is recommended. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of SCA file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening SCA files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
