SCN Troubleshooting

Troubles Opening SCN Files

Microsoft Age of Empires Isn't There

Double-clicking your SCN file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open SCN File". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Age of Empires for %%os%% installed on your computer. You won't be able to double-click to open your SCN because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your SCN, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Wrong Version of Microsoft Age of Empires is Installed

Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Microsoft Age of Empires installed that's incompatible with your Age Of Mythology Scenario File type. If you've got the wrong version of Microsoft Age of Empires installed, you'll need to install the correct version.
