Troubles Opening SLN Files
VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder Not Present
When trying to open your SLN file, you get the error "Can't Open SLN File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder missing in %%os%%. The typical path of opening your SLN with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your SLN file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder is Out-of-Date
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder installed that's incompatible with your Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File type. Visit the VSoft Technologies website to download (or purchase) the latest version of VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder. Most of the time your Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File file was created by a newer VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder than what you have installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the SLN file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Regardless, most of the SLN file opening problems relate to not having the right version of VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder installed.
Other SLN File Opening Causes
Errors opening Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File files can still occur even with the latest VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder software installed on your computer. Other SLN opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Other contributing causes:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for SLN
- The SLN file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- VSoft Technologies FinalBuilder or another SLN application experienced a flawed installation
- Something has caused file corruption of your SLN
- Past or present virus infection has affected your SLN
- Hardware associated with SLN has outdated drivers
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File file successfully
