Troubleshooting Problems Opening SNP Files
Frequent SNP Opening Issues
Microsoft Access Removed
You attempt to load your SNP file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The SNP File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Microsoft Access isn't installed on your PC. You won't be able to double-click to open your SNP because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your SNP, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Incorrect Microsoft Access Version
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Microsoft Access installed that's incompatible with your Access Report Snapshot type. Installing the latest version of Microsoft Access from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. Your Access Report Snapshot file was probably created by a newer release of Microsoft Access than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Right-clicking on your SNP, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening SNP files are due to having the incorrect version of Microsoft Access installed on your computer.
Additional SNP Opening Issues
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of Microsoft Access will resolve your issue. If you are still having problems opening SNP files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Other contributing causes:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for SNP
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry SNP description
- Corrupt install of Microsoft Access or other SNP-related program
- The SNP itself is corrupted
- Malware-tainted SNP file can't be opened
- Device drivers for SNP-related hardware are out-of-date
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Access Report Snapshot file
