Understanding TRF Issues
Troubles Opening TRF Files
TorrentRover Disappeared
If you attempt to load your TRF file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open TRF Files". Usually, this is because you do not have TorrentRover for %%os%% installed. Your operating system cannot associate your TRF with TorrentRover, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your TRF file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Outdated TorrentRover
In other instances, your TorrentRover File file version may not be supported by your version of TorrentRover. If you do not have the proper version TorrentRover (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a TorrentRover File file version that was created by a newer version of TorrentRover than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of TRF file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Primarily, problems experienced when opening TRF files are due to having the incorrect version of TorrentRover installed on your computer.
Other Causes of TRF File Opening Problems
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of TorrentRover will resolve your issue. Other TRF opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. These issues include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for TRF
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry TRF description
- TorrentRover or another TRF application experienced a flawed installation
- Your TRF can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Past or present virus infection has affected your TRF
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your TRF file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the TorrentRover File format
