Issues Opening VSIXLANGPACK Files
Microsoft Visual Studio is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open VSIXLANGPACK Files" when trying to open your VSIXLANGPACK. When this happens, it is commonly due to Microsoft Visual Studio missing in %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your VSIXLANGPACK because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your VSIXLANGPACK, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Microsoft Visual Studio is Installed
In other instances, your Microsoft Visual Studio Localised VSIX Package file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Visual Studio. You will need to download a newer version of Microsoft Visual Studio if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a Microsoft Visual Studio Localised VSIX Package file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Visual Studio than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: If you right-click on your VSIXLANGPACK file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Regardless, most of the VSIXLANGPACK file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Microsoft Visual Studio installed.
