Understanding WIZ Issues

Common Problems Opening WIZ Files

Microsoft Word Removed

If you attempt to load your WIZ file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open WIZ Files". Customarily, this means that Microsoft Word is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your WIZ because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your WIZ, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Microsoft Word Requires Update

It is possible that your version of Microsoft Word isn't able to open your Microsoft Wizard File file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of Microsoft Word from Microsoft Corporation is recommended. This problem is predominately due to having a Microsoft Wizard File file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Word than what you have installed on your PC.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your WIZ file and clicking "Properties".

Regardless, most of the WIZ file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Microsoft Word installed.

Additional WIZ Opening Issues

In the majority of cases, installing the right version of Microsoft Word will resolve your issue. If you're still experiencing problems opening WIZ files, there could be other computer problems. Issues that aren't software-related:
