Microsoft Visual Studio Disappeared

You attempt to load your WSP file and get an error such as "- Can't Open The WSP File Extension". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Microsoft Visual Studio for - installed on your computer. The typical path of opening your WSP with a double-click won't work because - cannot make the program connection.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your WSP, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Incorrect Microsoft Visual Studio Version

In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a SharePoint Solution Package file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Download the latest Microsoft Visual Studio version from the Microsoft Corporation website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Most of the time your SharePoint Solution Package file was created by a newer Microsoft Visual Studio than what you have installed.
